What a quartet! We’ve been itching to bring LA-based saxophonist/composer and Cal Arts professor STEVE LEHMAN to Montclair for quite a while. Steve is a musician’s musician and a composer of startling originality. The stars aligned through the brilliant vibraphonist CHRIS DINGMAN, a protege of Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter, who brought in one of his mentors at Wesleyan University, our man PHEEROAN AKLAFF–one of the pre-eminent drummers in modern jazz–and the mind-bending bassist STOMU TAKEISHI. Expect creative music at the highest level.
